The sublease party of the luxury house rented by Odom said that it had issued several reminders, including the "three-day ultimatum" posted on their residence on March 11: "If the rent is not fully paid within three working days, the landlord will announce the termination of the lease agreement." The complaint shows that a copy of the notice was also delivered to Odom by mail. The document specifically states that in addition to the owed US$45,000, the daily reasonable rent of the property is valuated at US$500 (approximately RMB 3,599). On March 17, the sublease formally launched the "confiscation of lease options" procedure.

As Odom did not respond, the court ruled that the sublease won the case on April 28, ordering the former NBA player to move out immediately.
