Andrish: I need more playing time to compete in the 2026 World Cup
Robert Andrish calmly evaluates his current status in the German national team. In an interview with The Kickers, the Leverkusen midfielder spoke frankly about the limited playing time last season and the impact that had on his chances with the national team.
Andrich: "If you have less playing time and are not a regular starter, then you can't be a member of the national team." Speaking of national team head coach Nagelsmann, Andrich: "We all agree that I need more playing time."
Facing the 2026 World Cup, Andrich: "In the past, when players who are not in form or have not played stably were called, I often wonder why they were there. Obviously, I now apply this standard. But I want to seize this opportunity."
According to media reports, he had considered a transfer, but after Leverkusen changed coach to Tenhach, this choice seemed to be out of consideration. In order to gain a place in the national team, Andrish will have to compete with well-known players such as Pavlovic, Goretzka, and Gross.
