British media: Nunes pushes to leave Liverpool this summer, the Reds still insist on asking for nearly 59 million pounds

According to British media talkSPORT, Nunes is striving to leave Liverpool and join Naples this summer.

Liverpool is willing to sell Nunes to raise funds to introduce new strikers. Nunes is likely to leave Anfield before the transfer window is closed, and Saudi Arabia has some clubs interested in the striker. In the European arena, Naples has become Nunez's most powerful contender.

According to talkSPORT, Nunes is their primary goal, and the forward is more inclined to join Conte's team. Conte, who has coached Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan, led the team to the team's fourth Serie A title in his first season in coaching Naples last season, is known for his ability to inspire forward players.

Liverpool has not received any offer yet, but it is expected that Naples will make a formal offer soon. The Reds' position remains that a quote of nearly £59 million (€70 million) is required to approve the transfer. Since joining Liverpool, Nunes has contributed 40 goals and 26 assists in 143 games.

However, his contribution does not match the £85 million transfer fee paid by the Reds when he signed him from Benfica in 2022. The Uruguay international has been a hot figure for Anfield fans, who often praise him for his talent for disrupting the opponent's defense, but under Slott's leadership, he seems not a key player.

In the 2024-25 season, Nunez played in 47 games, but only scored 7 goals. His popularity among some Liverpool fans has also declined due to the lack of a goal-front star. Slott's team is looking for a new star to lead the front line and insists on selling Nunes at the existing asking price to raise funds to bring in his replacement.
