British media: Riyadh Crescent and other Saudi clubs are interested in Newcastle star Jolinton
British media TBR Football exclusively disclosed that several clubs in the Saudi League, including Riyadh Crescent, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), are interested in signing Newcastle star Jolinton.
Jorlington has been one of the best players in the Magpies' Legion in recent years. He is not only a favorite among fans of St James Park Stadium, but also a key member of Eddie Howe's roster.
Jorlinton missed the last few games of the season with a knee injury, but he is expected to recover and prepare for the new season. However, there are some questions now: whether he will remain in Newcastle in August.
TBR Football chief reporter Graeme Bailey revealed that the Saudi League has shown interest in Newcastle star Jolinton.
Jorlington is 28 years old. Since Eddie Howe took office, Jolington has successfully transformed into a midfielder and signed a new long-term contract last year.
However, the Saudi League has put Jolinton on their target list. Several clubs are interested in introducing him, including Riyadh Crescent, and they are preparing to make a "huge" offer to test Newcastle's determination in order to have a significant impact in the summer window.
Riyadh Crescent is one of four Saudi league clubs owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and PIF is also the owner of Newcastle.
Given that PIF also has significant interests in the Saudi League, it is hard to imagine that both sides have no tacit understanding of this situation.
However, for now, Newcastle has no intention of selling Jolinton, and club sources told TBR that they don't need to make a big sale because of PSR (profit and sustainability rules) - a problem that plagued them last summer.
Indeed, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle will consider a specific price if the Saudi league makes a huge offer.
Newcastle has insisted that they do not need to sell players, but this has not stopped the outside world from becoming interested in several of their first-team players, including Isaac, Tonali and Liframento.
