He has only played 12 games so far! ESPN: Neymar renews contract with Santos for 6 months

According to ESPN, Neymar and Santos renewed their contract for 6 months to the end of this year, and the new contract was signed on Tuesday afternoon.

Although there is no guarantee that Neymar will continue to play in 2026, Santos has added some terms to the agreement to allow automatic renewal until next year's World Cup.

As ESPN previously disclosed, the signing model has also been adjusted, and additional contracts for Neymar's image rights development will no longer be signed between Santos and NR Sports.

In the original agreement expired on June 30, Santos and Neymar signed a contract with a net salary of 3 million yuan per month; another contract with NR Sports involves "athletes' intellectual property commercial use rights". The latter stipulates that Santos will pay at least US$15 million (85 million reais) and share the share based on the contract signed after the star joins. The core clause is that 75% of Neymar's revenue generated will be from NR Sports, and the club will receive 25%.

Despite the termination of the contract, Santos still needs to pay the amount related to the early stages of the signing of Neymar. However, the club believes that it has the ability to pay through sponsorship income, and the specific payment progress depends on the status of the partner's funds. According to NR Sports, the main reason for the breakdown of the agreement was the media leaking of the contract content, and the company believes that the leaker "from the Santos board of directors."

Neil Mar has made 12 appearances in various competitions this season, contributing 3 goals and 3 assists (all from the São Paulo State Championship). The most recent time was when he was scoring a handball against Bottafogo on the 1st of this month and was sent off with a red card.
