Juventus offensive line is weak! MiTi: Tudor considers pairing David and Vlahovic as forwards
"Gazzetta dello Sport" reported that as Juventus' offensive line continues to be unable to score goals, head coach Tudor is considering a major tactical change, which is to use Jonathan David and Vlahovich to form a double forward. This idea is also supported by club legends Platini and Trezeguet.
Platini suggested that Yildiz should return to the center as an attacking midfielder instead of being fixed on the wing. Trezeguet believes that David's diverse running style and Vlahovich's center attributes can complement each other, and the two can coexist. To realize this idea, Juventus needs to adjust its formation from the current 3-4-2-1 to 3-4-1-2.
The potential advantages of this tactical adjustment are obvious: Yildiz can gain more creative space in the center; David and Vlahovich can share the opponent's defensive pressure and avoid the dilemma of a single forward being closely marked; at the same time, other forwards in the team, such as Oponda, Vlahovich and David himself, have experience in fighting in a two-forward system. It is understood that Tudor has discussed this plan with the coaching staff within the training base and is looking for a suitable time to try it.
However, change also comes with risks. The biggest problem is the position of Portuguese winger Conceicao, who has been in hot form recently. In the 3-4-1-2 system, the winger who performed well in September and October will have difficulty finding a suitable position. He may be forced to become Yildiz's substitute, or drop back to the wing-back position where he is not good at. Although changing formations carries the risk of sacrificing some players, maintaining the status quo is also a risk when the team's offense is weak.
