Post: 38-year-old Vardy enters Naples shortlist for signing
The Daily Mail reported that Naples intends to introduce English veteran Vardy.
Valdi is currently a free agent and is carefully evaluating the invitations from several top clubs. Serie A champion Napoli put 38-year-old Vardy on the list of alternatives as Lukaku was missing for three months due to injury. Chelsea’s Jackson is another target, but the transfer fee may be too high.
Valdi ended his Leicester City career this summer, playing 500 appearances and scoring 200 goals, and winning the Premier League and FA Cup championships. Despite his age, his physical fitness, professionalism and fighting spirit still attract top teams. Teams such as Celtics, Glasgow Rangers and Everton have also expressed interest in them recently.
Last month, when Vardy's wife Rebeca stopped in Italy during a family vacation in Portugal, she showed off her figure in a nude tight skirt, which was suspected to have laid the groundwork for this transfer. Rebecca, 43, also shared vacation photos with her husband and friends Maguire and James Madison. The couple has been resting in a £9.7 million villa in Algarve recently.
Earlier this month, Rebecca posted playful photos of three children wearing Miami international jerseys on social media, accompanied by a "smiling face in sunglasses", which triggered speculation that Vardy may join the MLS team with stars such as Messi, Suarez, and Busquets.
But club sources denied the possibility to the Daily Mail: "No one in Miami has ever heard of him. They just signed Argentina World Cup champion De Paul, but the kids are cute to buy jerseys."
Naples had previously inquired about Manchester United's Hoylen and Liverpool's Nunez, while Belgian international Lukaku, 32, tore his left leg muscle in a friendly against Olympiacos last week, may undergo surgery.
