Genoa Football Club officially announced that Patrick Vieira will no longer serve as the head coach of the first team.
The club sincerely thanks the coach and his team for their rigorous attitude and professionalism during their work, and wishes them all the best in their future careers.
The first-team interim coaching responsibilities will be handled by Roberto Murghita, and Domenico Criscito will serve as assistant coach.
Since Vieira took over the team on November 20 last year, he has led the team to 10 wins, 12 draws and 15 losses, with a winning rate of only 27%.
Vieira is 49 years old. He played for AC Milan, Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan and Manchester City as a player, and played 107 times for the French team. He has won many championship honors such as the Premier League, Serie A, World Cup and European Cup.
After retiring, Vieira served as the director of football development in the Manchester City youth training system from 2011 to 2015. Since then, he has coached New York City, Nice, Crystal Palace and Strasbourg.
