Belotti: Returning to the Italian national team is my dream. I hope to help Cagliari

31-year-old Cagliari forward Belotti talked about his goals for the new season, his personal status and his outlook for returning to the national team at the press conference.

What goals have you set?

My goal is to help the team win, and it is my nature to win. By observing the team's game, I am sure I can perform well here. My purpose here is to be the key gentleman and score more goals for the team.

What kind of night did you score twice against Lecce?

It was a perfect night. What I am most satisfied with is the team's control over the game, and we are focused on established tactics from beginning to end. My two goals were just the icing on the cake.

You have not performed well in recent seasons, what do you think about this?

In Rome, we were only one step away from the UEFA Cup qualification, but at that time the team lacked an efficient scorer who could score twenty or thirty goals. In Fiorentina, we also made it to the Europa League final. So I think I have contributed to every team I have ever played for. As for my experience in Como, I agreed with the team's plan at that time, but my playing style does not fit well with the coach's tactical requirements.

This is your first time playing for a team that aims to relegate. How do you feel?

As long as the goal is to win, it will be very easy to integrate into the team. For me, victory is the only goal.

Now your coach is Pisakane, who was once your opponent on the court. He was a tough player. It feels a bit amazing to call him "coach" now. However, I have experienced similar situations in Rome, when my coach was De Rossi, a national teammate.

Do you still want to return to the national team? The jersey of the

national team is of great significance to me, and returning to the national team is of course my dream. But I know that now we must focus on our performance in Cagliari, because only by having excellent results here can we get the national team call again.
