DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that Diomande of Sporting CP is one of the candidates being considered by the team.

Most Liverpool fans are aware of the slightly precarious situation at the club's center back position. This summer's new signing Leoni suffered a severe ACL tear in the League Cup in September and will miss all remaining games this season. Meanwhile, Konate's contract expires at the end of this season and there is currently no sign of an extension.

Real Madrid is still eyeing it and is ready to continue to advance their recruitment strategy and sign star players whose contracts are about to expire. Liverpool is likely to face losing Konate next summer, which means that if Konate decides to leave Anfield, the club will undoubtedly seek reinforcements in the summer.

According to reports, Crystal Palace has been pursuing Diomande throughout the summer of 2025, hoping that he can take over Gueye's position. Crystal Palace are in advanced talks with Sporting CP over a deal worth around €55m (approximately £40m-£50m).

But for Liverpool, their interest is not that strong, and it is believed that Schlotterbeck is the more ideal choice for Slotter.

If Konate leaves when his contract expires and Guei ends up elsewhere, Liverpool will likely try to sign both Schlotterbeck and Diomand this summer.

However, if Guey eventually joins Liverpool as expected, only one person can join between Schloterbeck and Diomande. If this is the case, Dortmund star Schlotterbeck is currently the more popular choice.

Diomande has made more than 100 appearances for the team since moving to Sporting CP from Midtjylland in January 2023 for 7.5 million euros (plus additional terms up to 12.5 million euros). The 21-year-old right-footed center back has already represented Côte d'Ivoire in the 2023 African Cup of Nations and will usher in his second continental tournament in December.

He was also selected into the Portuguese Super League Team of the Year for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. With Sporting CP, he won two consecutive Portuguese Super League titles.
