Former Italian Football Association Chairman responded to Moji: Courts at all levels have ruled that I am innocent, but Moji is different
Moji accused former Italian Football Association chairman Carraro of favoring Milan in 2004. Carraro responded that courts at all levels ruled that I was innocent, but Moji was different.
Cararo said: "It has been 19 years since the telephone gate incident. The media readers have changed to some extent, and not everyone remembers it. Therefore, I think it is necessary to remind everyone that the Naples trial court, the Supreme Court, the Audit Court, and the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, as the final ruling body of the sports judicial department, have all ruled that I am innocent and believed that my behavior was 'compliant with the rules and regulations'. The judgment on Moji is different."
In the telephone gate incident, Moji was not only suspended for life at the sports judicial level, but also under criminal trial. At first, Moji was sentenced to 5 years and 4 months in prison for organizing crimes and sports fraud, and after passing the appeal, he was reduced to 2 years and 4 months in the second instance. In 2015, the Supreme Court revoked the second-instance judgment, and Moji did not need to serve his sentence because it exceeded the statute of limitations.
